Victorian Townhouse in Hampstead North West London, NW3
Victorian Townhouse in Hampstead North-West London, NW3
planning permission : restoration : extension : interior design : bespoke furniture
Having previously been split into flats, this four storey, Victorian house offered disjointed accommodation and had lost its internal period features. Our client wanted us to completely renew and update the fabric of the house, remodelling and refurbishing the interior in a modernist fashion, whilst maintaining and restoring the period character of the Victorian façade.
Also specified in the brief, we were required to form a rear, ground-floor extension supporting a roof terrace accessed from the first floor, and to convert the attic into a children’s playroom. This element of the project required some negotiation with Camden Council before we secured the planning permission.
After restructuring the floor plan to provide flexible spaces conducive to a modern family lifestyle, we designed the interior fitout with a luxury finish. We installed bespoke, handcrafted furniture, formed in hardwood, and laid solid oak floors, throughout the house. Stone tiling and worktops adorn the kitchen and bathrooms whilst the units in the cleverly designed double bathroom boast a rich, walnut veneer.
